I always loved Ashley Doom and Linacherie's stairs with the colorful risers, but barely used them because the stair treads didn't match my floors. So here are some Spanish tile recolors to match some of my favorite wood floors.
There are 96 recolors in all (6 wooden bases with 16 colorful risers), enough to have a full flight of stairs with each step in a different color.

You will need the mesh,
Numenor's Recolourable Wooden Modular Stairs for these to work. No text file is needed. Just put the mesh and recolors in your Downloads folder. The mesh will override Maxis' "Wooden Stairs" (the cheap brown ones).
[big]Applying Colors[/big][/color]
The recolors will not appear in the stairs catalog. To apply the recolors: place the stairs, and use the Design Tool to change the color of each step individually.

If you don't like the repeating wood pattern on the side of the staircase, you can get the
Wallpaperable Stair Walls (they're actually windows) from Simlogical. I'm using them in the last pic.
