ok. :) i can't wait to see it. just make sure you pull the file from your "saved sims" folder. it should be the latest package added to the folder. if you sort the files by "date created" it should be easy to find. did you ever fix the downloads you posted here?

Got it ;) and I erased and reuploaded the last few awhile ago. I still need to work on adding textures to my recolors though, that's the only thing that needs help.

there are a bunch of tutorials around the community for adding texture/depth to your recolors. did you try the suggestion i gave you via pm. also do you use the bump map file? that makes a big difference in adding depth and texture to your clothing.

I did a quickie technique in photoshop where I copied the outfit, reduced the color to gray and saw a little difference. I may have to really take the time step it up beyond that. I did take your advice on matching meshes, still looking for a decent slim tshirt and baggy shorts texture. Here's a recolor I did by the way: http://hellyeahurbansimsgear.tumblr.com/post/11960466534/in-game-shot-cdp-xis

can you tell me what process you're using to get and then upload your recolors, because for some reason you're not ending up with sims 2 package files.

1, Once you finish creating and import your recolor in bodyshop it automatically saves in your "SavedSims" folder (C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\SavedSims).

2. The new recolor file name should have a bunch of letters and/or numbers followed by whatever name you gave the project in BodyShop. Example: k2sj38zx_TeenHoodie.

3. If you look in the file type column, it should be listed as a "DBPF Package."

4. Since you create a lot of recolors, you'll probably have a lot of files in your SavedSims folder. To find the newest files, sort the file list by "Date Created."

5. Copy the file to your desktop or another folder, rename it if you want to, and then upload it to Mediafire.

Photoshop is what you use to create the textures, but to get them to show up on a mesh and in your game, you have to import the textures from Photoshop into BodyShop. If you're not using BodyShop, how do you get the outfits to show up in your game?

No I export the files to photoshop from the bodyshop and save the files as BMP. A lot of it was just by clicking here and there to see what works.

right. the process is...

1. you EXPORT the textures for the mesh you want to use from bodyshop. the texture you export is used as a "base template" to create your new texture.
2. the exported textures go into your PROJECTS folder.
3. you edit the exported texture with your new texture in photoshop and then save.
4. then you import the new texture you saved in photoshop BACK into bodyshop.
5. once you import the new textures into bodyshop it creates the new recolor, which automatically goes into your SAVED SIMS folder, creating a brand new PACKAGE FILE that you can share.

you HAVE to import the outfit BACK into bodyshop to get it to show up in your game. there's no other way to get the new recolors to work. you're obviously doing something right on your end because you're able to take in-game pics of the outfits you make. if you weren't importing the outfits in bodyshop, they wouldn't show up in your game. the problem occurs when you try to share the outfits with others, because you're sharing the wrong type of file and getting it from the wrong folder.

are you using a pc or mac? what version of windows?

what version of windows do you use (not like that should make a difference)? what are the file types of the files in your saved sims folder? are you sure you're choosing the correct files? are you making any changes to the files before uploading them? do you rename them? is it possible you're changing the file type by mistake?
you're not giving me much information to work with so i can help you. :lol2:

Windows 7, I go to the Saved Sims file, I rename them after uploading them and I don't know what else could be causing the file issues.

what are the file types in your saved sims folder? also i would suggest changing the file name before uploading the file. copy the file from SavedSims to your desktop, rename it then upload it.
